Justin Hawkins from The Darkness is back with a new band called Hot Legs.
It has been a few years since we have heard from Hawkins following the split of The Darkness after just two albums in 2006.
He has been fighting addictions to cocaine and alcohol and had suffered a breakdown. Hawkins was admitted to a rehabilitation clinic in August 2006 and the third album was The Darkness was aborted.
At the time he admitted to having spent £150,000 on cocaine.
Last night, Hawkins performed his first show with Hot Legs in Camden, UK. He told the crowd, “It’s the first time I’ve done a proper music concert in a couple of years. I think in the time since then I’ve suffered what you might call a breakdown.”
Hawkins closed the show with his The Darkness hit ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love.
