Justin Hawkins’ Darkness pride
Justin Hawkins’ Darkness pride

Justin Hawkins is “proud” of his time in The Darkness.
The ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ singer suffered much ridicule during his time in the spandex-clad rock group – which he left in 2006 to battle drink and drug problems – but insists he has no regrets.
Justin, who now fronts rock outfit Hot Legs, said: “It’s not the sort of thing you can turn around and pretend didn’t happen. I’m actually quite proud of the work that we did – not all of the work we did.
“When I think of what we achieved in a year, we went from opening Glastonbury to headlining Reading and I don’t know if many people can say that really.”
Justin began Hot Legs first tour in London last night (06.08.08) and says he hasn’t ruled out his famous lycra catsuits making a reappearance.
He said: “I’ve still got some of the catsuits and luckily, because I’ve been looking after myself a bit better, I fit into them again.
“But should I move on? Obviously, it’s the ultimate singing uniform, but I don’t know if it’s right for Hot Legs at this stage.
“Perhaps for encores and big shows I could start bringing out the one-piece.”
